![]() All the staff knew it was his birthday and he got called Mr birthday. It was my boyfriends birthday while we were there and I arranged a cake before we went. There aren't many English families there but we met some and the staff do speak English. I would recommend this hotel as it was cheap but perfectly adequate. There are a row of shops selling everything you might need and all the usual knick knacks so we didn't go out of the hotel all week. There are free pedalos included in the all inclusive price. The hotel is right on the beach and the sea is lovely and warm. The entertainment in the evening gets very repetitive but we enjoyed ourselves. The animation team ask and if you say no they move on to someone else. ![]() There are a lot of things to do all day if you want from archery to water aerobics but we never felt hassled to join in. There is a snack bar that serves pizza and chips everyday from 10 am til midnight and it does doughnuts in the afternoon. The food was ok, we found something to eat everyday and the Tunisian evening down at the beach restaurant was lovely ( you get 1 Tunisian meal per stay ). The rooms are very basic and could do with a spruce up but the air con worked and that was a god send. The hotel is really nice and the staff are all extremely friendly. I have just come back from a week here with my boyfriend. We definitely go again in future and I would like to thank all the staff for working so hard. However this was really the only downer and didn't really spoil a beautiful holiday. Pretty dumb really when there is a mezzanine cafe down below next to beach to cater for this. They bottles and glasses next to the pool even though there signs that stated it was forbidden. Who insisted having their family meal right behind our heads next to the pool, literally inches us. My only real gripe was when the Manager brought some big shot local with two wives and around ten kids. My only gripe is the weekends when the locals Tunisians are allowed in probably family and friends. However we didn't experience this and all the nationalities we very pleasant. There has been a lot of speak of the Hotel doesn't cater for English. The entertainment could be a little repetitive, but they tried hard and always had fun. My answer is don't go abroad and try Butlins instead! We thought the food was excellent. People as usual said there nothing to eat like burgers etc. The food is the local affair with continental breakfast. It reminds of me Butlins as the chalet rooms back onto to each other and are coloured red, blue, green and yellow. However it is maintained really well and it doesn't look tired. It's not five star more a 3 star and it's a older hotel. It was really relaxing with a beautiful beach and pool. Overall, this study provides new insights on the risk of MP for the marine ecosystem, their ability to accumulate xenobiotics and transfer them to marine biota, with potential adverse repercussion on their health status.Just came back from a really nice stay at the Samira Club Hotel. About apoptosis/DNA repair processes, P53 and DNA-ligase increased at 1-day exposure in all conditions, whereas after 3 days increase of bax, Cas-3 and P53 and decrease of Bcl-2 and DNA-ligase were revealed, suggesting a shift towards a cell apoptotic event in exposed mussels. Both contaminants induced cytotoxic and genotoxic effects on hemocytes as determined by lysosomal membrane stability (LMS), micronuclei frequency (FMN), and DNA fragmentation rate by terminal dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL). An increase of BP was detected in mussels after 3-day exposure, particularly when mixed with MP. Raman Microspectroscopy (RMS) revealed bioaccumulation in mussel hemolymph of MP, characterized by polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene vinyl acetate (PEVA) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), with abundance of MP sized 1.22–0.45 µm. Herein, impact of ecologically relevant concentrations of environmental MP alone (50 µg/L) or combined with BP (1 µg/L) was assessed in mussel Mytilus galloprovincialis after a short-term exposure (1 and 3 days) to environmental MP collected from a north-Mediterranean beach. However, the effects of environmental microplastics combined with other pollutants are still poorly investigated. The hazard of microplastic (MP) pollution in marine environments is a current concern.
